The study looked at how dry the Iberian Peninsula has been over the past century. They used data on rainfall and evaporation to see how arid the region has become. The results show that the southern part of the peninsula is getting drier, which could lead to desert-like conditions. The north and west have stayed relatively humid, while other areas are becoming more semi-arid. Overall, there is a trend towards drier conditions in the southeast and central regions. The rest of the peninsula hasn't changed much in terms of aridity.
