Eating more fish could significantly improve heart health for middle-aged adults.
A group of 50 middle-aged women and men took part in a health education program to improve their heart health by eating more fish. After three months, those who attended the program ate fish more frequently compared to a group that did not participate. The participants who had the health education increased their levels of healthy fatty acids found in fish, such as EPA and DHA. These changes were not seen in the group that did not have the education. The study shows that teaching people the benefits of consuming fish can lead to increased fish intake and improve the levels of important fatty acids in their blood, which is good for heart health.
