Optimizing Aeration Stabilization Ponds for Efficient Sanitary Waste Treatment.
The study looked at how to improve the efficiency of treating countryside sanitary waste in aeration stabilization ponds. They found that a hydraulic detention time of 4 days works best, with aeration periods of at least 15 minutes. Sludge concentration evens out between 2 to 10 minutes at each point in the pond. The most effective aeration pattern for removing pollutants is 30 minutes of aeration followed by 1 hour of rest.
