Leukemia and related disorders involve abnormal cells taking over the bone marrow, outcompeting normal cells. This study shows that the growth of these abnormal cells is influenced by substances that also control the growth of healthy cells. By studying how different cell clones interact, researchers hope to understand how leukemia develops and how normal blood production can be restored.
