New method revolutionizes wetland analysis, enhancing ecological understanding.
The study looked at the landscape of Lizejian wetland in Taiwan using both landscape indices and aerial photos. The researchers found that while landscape indices can show the shape of the wetland, they can't capture its spatial and functional characteristics seen in aerial photos. By combining both methods, they were able to get a better understanding of the wetland's structure and function. This new approach could be important for future research in landscape ecology.
