Revolutionary Wetland System Cleans Domestic Wastewater, Protects Water Bodies
A study was conducted to test a simple and cost-effective way to treat domestic wastewater using a constructed wetland system with Typhalatifolia and Canna Lilies. The researchers found that a minimum of 5 days of treatment is needed for effective pollutant removal, with Typhalatifolia being more efficient than Canna Lilies. Typhalatifolia also showed promise in nutrient uptake, making it suitable for treating wastewater from the fertilizer industry. The study confirmed that the constructed wetland system is suitable for low and intermittent flow conditions.
