ICSI boosts fertilization rates, offers hope for IVF patients with failures.
The study looked at using a technique called intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to help patients who had trouble getting pregnant with traditional IVF. They found that ICSI greatly improved fertilization rates in these patients, from 5.4% with IVF to 76.9% with ICSI. However, patients who had previously low fertilization rates still had lower success rates compared to those without previous issues. Overall, ICSI was able to overcome previous fertilization failures and improve the chances of pregnancy for these patients.
