Climate change and human activities in China causing vegetation decline.
Vegetation in Xinjiang, China changed from 1982 to 2012 due to climate change and human activities. The growth of plants increased from 1982 to 1998, but then decreased until 2012. Farmland saw a significant increase in vegetation, but some areas experienced a decrease. Temperature affected growth in spring and autumn, while summer growth was influenced by precipitation. Fertilizers and irrigation helped plants grow, but cotton farming and livestock grazing had mixed effects on vegetation.
