Irrigation Costs Key to Boosting Rice Production in Bangladesh District
The study analyzed rice production in Rajbari district, Bangladesh, focusing on local and high yielding varieties. Data from 193 rice producers was collected using a questionnaire. The analysis showed that factors like land rent, seed, labor, fertilizer, and irrigation costs positively affected rice production, while insecticide and ploughing costs had a negative impact. Irrigation cost was found to be crucial for increasing rice yield in the area. Overall, the study highlighted the importance of irrigation and provided suggestions for enhancing rice production in Rajbari district.
