Loblolly Pine Stands Thrive with New Silviculture Method in the South
The study looked at how different levels of tree density, tree size, and site quality affect the growth of loblolly pine forests in Arkansas and Louisiana. They found that higher tree density led to more tree growth overall. Site quality didn't affect the amount of usable wood grown, but did impact the growth of larger, more valuable trees. Bigger trees grew less in volume but more in board feet.
