Norwegian general practitioners studied how they refer patients to specialists. They found that Norwegians have fewer doctor visits per week compared to other countries. Only 8% of visits resulted in a referral. Norwegian patients had to wait longer to see a specialist than patients in the UK. Home visits made up 10% of all visits.
