The study looked at the quality of drinking water in rural areas of China. They checked water in 180 counties across 26 provinces, cities, and autonomous regions. They found that 42.7% of the population had unclean drinking water. Bacteria levels were too high, and there was a lot of organic pollution. Some areas had water with too much fluoride.
