Twice hand weeding boosts linseed yields and profits significantly.
The researchers tested different herbicides to control weeds in linseed crops. They found that hand weeding twice at specific times or using certain herbicides before or after planting resulted in the lowest weed density and highest linseed yields. The best results were seen with hand weeding at 20 and 40 days after sowing, or with pre-emergence application of pendimethalin and imazethapyr. These methods also led to higher profits for farmers.
