To control pollution from farms entering Fuxian Lake, wetlands were built to filter out harmful substances like nitrogen and phosphorus. The wetlands successfully removed pollutants, with consistent efficiency throughout the year. Ammonia and nitrate were the main nitrogen pollutants found in the water. This study provides valuable insights for creating similar wetland systems to combat agricultural pollution.
