Motor vehicles in industrial areas contribute to air pollution. A study measured pollutants near a heavy traffic road in an industrial area. They found that traffic was linked to higher levels of pollutants like NO, NO2, SO2, CO, and xylene. Heavy duty vehicles had a stronger correlation with PM10 and SO2 levels. This shows that traffic emissions play a significant role in air quality in industrial areas.
