Government subsidies and tariffs distort Norwegian industries, benefiting few at cost.
The study looked at how much help different industries in Norway got from the government in 1989 and 1991. They measured this help by looking at things like subsidies, taxes, tariffs on imports, and electricity prices. Most industries got help, but some got more than others. Agriculture, Food Processing, and Beverage and Tobacco industries got the most help. Subsidies and barriers to trade were the biggest sources of help.
