New Rice Variety and Sowing Date Boosts Yield and Profits!
Sowing rice on June 13th with the variety Hardinath-1 leads to higher yields, faster maturity, and better economic returns in Chitwan conditions. This was found in a study that tested different sowing dates and rice varieties in 2010. The combination of June 13th sowing and Hardinath-1 variety resulted in the highest grain yield, gross return, net return, and benefit-cost ratio per hectare. This variety also showed early maturity, more effective tillers, higher heat use efficiency, and increased straw and grain yield compared to other varieties and sowing dates. Overall, for direct seeded rice in Chitwan, using Hardinath-1 with a June 13th sowing date is the best choice for maximizing yield and economic returns.
