A model was used to study how sand moves along the shore over many years at different coastal sites. The model looked at erosion, overwash, and sand transport to predict how beaches and dunes change. The study sites included areas in Portugal, Mozambique, and Sweden. The model worked well overall, especially in Portugal where there was more data. It can help predict how beaches and dunes will change over time, but needs improvements to represent different beach shapes.
