Soil erosion in Central Java watershed threatens carbon loss crisis.
The researchers predicted soil and soil organic carbon loss in the Girindulu watershed. They collected data on land, climate, erosion, and carbon. They found that the area had a total soil loss of 9,880,934.7 tons per year and a soil organic carbon loss of 153,120.2 tons per year. Factors like rainfall, land slope, soil texture, and human activities affect soil and carbon loss. To conserve soil, they recommend planting trees in marginal lands, using agricultural residues, mulching with organic matter, and applying organic fertilizer.
