New method allows accurate protein quantitation for medical research breakthroughs!
The researchers found that traditional methods for measuring proteins in samples taken from electrophoresis were not accurate due to various interferences. They discovered that these interferences could be overcome by concentrating and dialyzing the samples, allowing for accurate protein measurements using the Lowry and Bradford assays. This method was successfully applied to proteins like bovine serum albumin, human hexokinase, and phosphoglucomutase.
