A study was done to see how different weed control methods affect maize growth and yield. They found that using a specific herbicide reduced weed growth and increased maize plant height, number of grains per cob, and seed weight. This led to a significantly higher grain yield compared to letting the weeds grow unchecked. The herbicide treatment also resulted in the highest net return and benefit-cost ratio among all the methods tested.
