Unlocking the Power of Synchronized Rituals: How Religion Shapes Society
Synchronized behavior plays a big role in religious rituals, driven by cognitive and bodily processes. Current theories on religion focus too much on the brain and ignore the body's impact on religious behavior. A new approach called embodied cognition looks at how the body influences religious thoughts and actions. A body-schema model of synchronized ritual behavior is proposed to better understand the connection between religion and the body.
