New herbicide combo boosts lentil yield and profits, revolutionizing weed management.
The study tested different herbicides to see which ones work best for controlling weeds in lentil crops. The best results were seen with hand weeding twice during the growing season, followed by using a mix of pendimethalin and imazethapyr before the lentils sprouted. This method led to the lowest amount of weeds, tallest plants, most branches per plant, highest yield of pods and seeds, and the most profit for farmers. Overall, this approach was the most effective in managing weeds and maximizing lentil crop yield and economic return.
