Secure land tenure and reduced disputes: Cadastral mapping transforms rural communities
The article discusses how a Land Information System using Cadastral model was developed for the rural region of Tirat and Chalbalpur in Barddhaman district. The main goal was to create digital maps to help manage land and issue land titles, reducing disputes. By linking legal land data with maps, the system aims to improve land administration and planning. The study shows that using technology like GIS can be crucial for handling large amounts of dynamic land data effectively.
