Grassland restoration in China has positive impacts on biodiversity and ecosystem services, improving them by around 30%. However, restored grasslands still fall short of the biodiversity and ecosystem services levels in undisturbed grasslands. Different restoration methods affect outcomes, but the age of restoration doesn't seem to make a big difference. Biodiversity and ecosystem services recovery are linked, with biodiversity improving as ecosystem services do. More research is needed to fully understand these patterns and guide future restoration efforts.
