Urban areas in Yangtze River Delta intensify heat islands, impacting climate.
The study looked at how human activities affect urban heat islands in the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration. They found that the UHI intensity was strongest in summer, followed by autumn, spring, and winter. Daytime UHI intensity was higher than nighttime UHI intensity. Factors like energy consumption, temperature, and urban area were positively correlated with UHI intensity, while wind speed and precipitation were negatively correlated. Population density didn't show a significant correlation. This research helps us understand how different factors influence urban heat islands in this region.
