The study looked at how popularity and gender influence bullying and defending behavior in early adolescents. Popular kids were more likely to bully others, especially boys who prioritize popularity. Girls who prioritize popularity were less likely to bully. Popular girls were more likely to defend others. Boys who prioritize popularity were less likely to defend. Overall, lower popularity prioritization led to more defending behavior.
