The article discusses the characteristics of peasant households based on data from 1985. It looks at how traditional peasant families have changed over time and examines the production capacity of average peasant farms in three Counties. The study also explores the development of Chinese agricultural production patterns since economic reform. In the end, the article summarizes the key features of peasant households.
