The article examines changes in Russian law related to compensating for damages due to breaches of contract. Previously, limitations on damages were too restrictive, but recent reforms have expanded them in the Civil code. By investigating legal rules and court practices, the study reveals new opportunities for proving and receiving compensation for damages in civil and arbitration cases in Russia.
