Unlocking Rice Production Potential in the Philippines Through Soil Fertility Analysis.
The study evaluated the fertility of lowland soils in the Philippines for rice cultivation. Researchers analyzed soil characteristics like organic matter, available nutrients, and clay content. They found three key factors affecting soil fertility: organic matter, potassium and silica availability, and phosphorus availability. These factors were crucial for rice production, with the lowest factor score limiting crop yield. By addressing soil constraints, farmers can improve nutrient management and increase rice production.
