Paclobutrazol boosts flower production by 35% in Bouvardia humboldtii plants!
Paclobutrazol effectively controls the height of Bouvardia humboldtii plants and increases the number of flowers. Spraying or drenching with paclobutrazol reduces plant height by about 30% and boosts the total number of flowers by around 35%. Paclobutrazol also decreases the plant's overall weight, with sprays being more effective than drenches. The chemical alters the ratio of shoot to root in favor of the shoot. Other chemicals like daminozide and chlormequat were not as effective. In conclusion, paclobutrazol application can be beneficial for commercial Bouvardia production as a flowering pot plant.
