Cuba's Post-Crisis Food Security Success Ignored by International Community.
Cuba faced a food crisis in the 1990s when it lost its main sources of food and fuel. Despite this, Cuba managed to double its agricultural production and increase food availability by 25%. The country's success in achieving food security after the crisis is not well-studied or recognized internationally. The lack of interest in Cuba's experience may be due to political bias, preventing other countries from learning valuable lessons on how to improve food security.
