NAFTA to Revolutionize Trade Relations Between US and Mexico
The United States and Mexico have been working on improving their trade relations for several years. In 1989, the US and Canada started a free trade agreement, and Mexico joined the General Agreement in Tariffs and Trade in 1986. This led to the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) being signed in 1992, which aimed to eliminate tariffs between Canada, the US, and Mexico over fifteen years.
