New laccase-mediators revolutionize pulp bleaching process, boosting efficiency and sustainability.
Researchers developed new laccase-mediators for bleaching pulp by modifying a known mediator, N-hydroxyacetanilide (NHA). They found that the properties of laccase, an enzyme used in bleaching, were affected by these new mediators. By changing the chemical structure of NHA, they created more effective laccase-mediators for pulp bleaching.
