The goal of the article is to guide the construction of ecological provinces in China using ecological economics theory. Several provinces in China have already started the process of establishing ecological provinces, with Hainan being the first to propose and implement this initiative. The key finding is that multiple provinces in China have taken steps towards becoming ecological provinces, showing a growing interest in integrating ecological principles into economic development.
