Outdated methods lead to major errors in groundwater studies.
The researchers evaluated methods for determining aquifer hydrodynamic coefficients in Fars Province using pumping test data. Traditional methods like Theis and Cooper - Jacob often lead to significant errors in estimating these coefficients. By analyzing pumping tests in karst and alluvial aquifers, they found that these methods were inaccurate for unconfined alluvial and karst aquifers, but suitable for confined alluvial aquifers. They also identified errors related to wellbore storage and skin effect in large diameter pumping wells.
