Study reveals ferns' ability to thrive in different light conditions
Four fern species were studied to understand how they handle light exposure. Different light levels were used to test their reactions, and it was found that ferns adapted to direct sunlight were better at protecting themselves from excess light energy. Ferns adapted to shade had a harder time dealing with too much light, leading to damage. Overall, ferns that can handle direct sunlight are more efficient at photosynthesis and protecting themselves from harm compared to those adapted to shade.
