The study looked at the physical and chemical properties of sewage sludge from a wastewater treatment plant in Kranj. Heavy metals were found to be a major pollutant in the sludge, making it unsuitable for use on land. By composting the sludge with other materials, it could be used to help clean up landfills and degraded areas.
