The article explores how Argentina, Australia, and Canada struggled to define their national identities from 1870 to 1950. While Argentina aimed to break away from its Spanish roots and emulate the United States, Australia and Canada, as former British colonies, also grappled with their identities. The study suggests that these countries may still be uncertain about their national identities. The period examined shows the challenges and seriousness of establishing a national identity.
