The Beavon sulfur removal process cleans up Claus plant tail gas by turning sulfur contaminants into hydrogen sulfide, then converting it to elemental sulfur. This reduces sulfur compounds in the gas from 1-3% to less than 100 ppm, with the treated gas containing less than 1 ppm hydrogen sulfide.
