Small-N comparative political communication research often lacks strong explanatory power due to a focus on description. Fuzzy set Qualitative Comparative Analysis (fsQCA) offers a new method that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches for analyzing small-N cases effectively. Unlike traditional methods, fsQCA views causes as interconnected and having varying impacts, rather than working independently. This approach provides a fresh perspective on causation for scholars in both quantitative and qualitative fields.
