Urbanization Reversal: Masses Flee Cities for Rural Life in Korea
Migration patterns in Korea have shifted over time, with more people moving from urban to rural areas. Researchers analyzed migration data from 2001 to 2014 and found that many major migration flows are now moving downward in the national-spatial hierarchy. This shows a change from the traditional upward migration trend. The study identified seven tiers of migration flows based on population density and observed different patterns of migration within these tiers over time.
