In a study with collegiate swimmers, a short version of a sport leadership scale was analyzed. They found that a model with five factors fit the data well. The factor sizes were different in two models they tested. The connections between the factors and athletes' satisfaction were exaggerated in one model. Overall, the study backs the idea that the leadership scale used is valid.
