Revolutionizing Community Forests in Nepal with Rapid Silviculture Appraisal
Community forests in Nepal need better forest management. A new method called Rapid Silviculture Appraisal involves local communities in assessing forests and making plans. The study found that many community forests have low tree density and poor quality trees. Forest users prefer silviculture options that are legal, doable, and produce multiple forest products. To improve forest sustainability, traditional practices need to be combined with silviculture-based management.
