Integrated soil amendment boosts potato yield in Western Ethiopia.
The study looked at how different types of fertilizers affect the growth and yield of potatoes in Ethiopia. They tested various combinations of organic and inorganic fertilizers in the field. The results showed that using a mix of wood ash, farmyard manure, and inorganic fertilizer led to the highest potato yields. These fertilizers helped increase plant height, biomass, and the number of tubers produced. However, using only organic fertilizers did not have as much of an impact on potato growth and yield. Overall, combining wood ash, compost, and inorganic fertilizer resulted in the best potato harvest.
