Online businesses often use web services to offer their products and services. These services can be combined to create more complex services. In the past, services were mostly SOAP based, but now RESTful services are more popular. However, the current standard for creating complex services, BPEL, doesn't support including RESTful services. A new method called RESO Co has been developed to allow BPEL engines to use both SOAP based and RESTful services together. This means more services can be used in complex business processes, while still taking advantage of the lightweight nature of RESTful services.
