The researchers studied a new seeding machine for soybeans to improve accuracy. They found the optimal conditions for accurate seeding and developed a machine with a large diameter cell. This new machine can seed accurately at higher speeds than machines currently on the market. In field tests, they found that higher clod breaking ratios led to better seeding accuracy. To achieve good plant standing ratios, a clod breaking ratio of over 80% is needed, with a maximum working speed of 0.9m/s.
