Flies Spread Quickly in Winter, Posing Health Risks to Urban Areas.
Researchers conducted an experiment to study how flies disperse in winter. They marked and released flies near garbage sites in Kyoto, then recaptured them at different distances. They found that certain fly species traveled up to 400 meters from the release point. One type of fly dispersed more quickly than another. The study suggests that one species tends to concentrate in residential areas, while the other does not show a clear preference.
