The study compared the ability of different Bacillus strains to remove organic matter from wastewater. Bacillus strains were found to be 2-5 times more effective at removing organic matter compared to another common organism. Additionally, Bacillus strains with endospores showed higher organic matter removal rates than those with vegetative cells.
