Shanxi's carbon emissions soar due to economic growth, but energy efficiency curbs the rise
The study looked at carbon emissions from energy use in Shanxi Province from 2004 to 2013. They used a method called LMDI to break down the factors influencing these emissions. They found that economic growth is the main reason for the increase in carbon emissions from energy use in the province. Energy efficiency is the most effective way to reduce these emissions. The type of industries in the region also plays a role in carbon emissions, although less than economic growth. The way energy is consumed in Shanxi can both increase and decrease emissions, but the positive impact is stronger. Based on these findings, suggestions were made to manage carbon emissions in the province.
